Over the last decade there has been a huge increase in the use of high strength concrete (HSC) in bridge construction in countries such as the USA, Norway, Canada and France. This report outlines the issues related to the use of HSC, production and placement practice, and the test methods used. It provides an overview of some of the information currently available on HSC and is thoroughly referenced to direct the reader to original sources for more detailed material.
