Special care must be taken when concrete is cast in cold weather. For example: If the water in the young concrete is allowed to freeze, the concrete will be damaged and could be unfit for use. Even in colder temperatures concrete will not gain strength as quickly.
The course provides practical guidance on design and site prevention measures for concreting in cold weather. The course covers specifying, placing and damage prevention measures and looks at both early age ‘frost’ and long term ‘freeze-thaw’ damage mechanisms.
The course is designed for all those involved in concreting operations.
