High strength concrete columns and normal strength slabs

There are economic advantages to using high strength concrete for the columns of multi-storey buildings but the floor slabs are generally constructed using a lower concrete strength. This Advice Sheet considers the design implications of using high strength columns with 'normal' strength slabs.
