Reassesses how the special properties of calcium aluminate cements (CAC) could be used successfully in construction. Their chemical resistance and rapid strength development led to successful use in specialist applications for many decades. Understanding has grown about prediction of long-term stable strength of CAC concrete, which might allow safe and confident use where its properties might be of benefit.
